Mucous Membrane Irritation Study Counts and MTT Tetrazolium Assay
(CFTA Guidelines Method) Booster Gel Lot 70710-D and DAY WHITE with ACP
15% Lot 970701

SUMMARY
The test article, Booster Gel Lot 70710-D and Daywhite 15% Lot 970701,
Lot #70710-D & Lot A 970701, was evaluated for the potential to
cause irritation to the mucosal tissue in the cheek of the rat.
In each of seven rats, the test article was repeatedly swabbed across
the mucosal tissue of the cheek over the course of 14 days. For
a basis of comparison, five animals were similarly treated with
Municipal Water as a negative control. Animals were observed daily
for general health and on treatment days and at termination for
macroscopic signs of mucosal damage and angular cheilitis. A final
examination was conducted 1 day following the last treatment.
Under the conditions of this study, the test article was not considered
to be irritating to the cheek of the rat. The death of the one test
animal was not believed to be caused by the administration of the
test article mixture.
CONCLUSION
Under the conditions of this study, the test article was not
considered to be irritating to the cheek of the rat. The death of
the one test animal was not believed to be caused by the administration
of the administration of the test article mixture.
