NITE WHITE with ACP Excel 10%
Measurement of Intracellular Formation of Hydroxyl Free Radicals form
NITE WHITE with ACP Tooth Whitening Gel in Cultured V79 Cells Using a Salicylate
Trapping Method.

SUMMARY
The treatment of the V79 cells with the reactive oxidant radical
generator, hypoxanthine/xanthine oxidase (X/XO) and hydrogen peroxide,
resulted in a dose and time dependent increase in the intracellular
salicylic acid hydroxylation products: 2,3-dihydroxybenzoic acid
(2,3-DHBA) and 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid (2,5-DHBA). The formation
of hydroxyl free radicals was also detected in cultures that were
treated with hydrogen peroxide. However, treatment of salicylic
acid loaded V79 cells with NITE WHITE with ACP gel and its placebo at doses
from 0 to 100 mg/mL resulted in no increases in 2,3-DHBA and 2,5-DHBA.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded that NITE WHITE with ACP Tooth Whitening Gel does not
induce the formation of intracellular hydroxyl free radicals in
cultured V79 cells.
