The Bitewing X-ray - Bitewing x-rays are the most commonly used in dentistry. A small film packet is placed in the area to be examined. To hold it in place, you'll be asked to bite down on the tab on the backside of the packet. The x-ray source is then positioned, and an image of both the upper and lower teeth is captured.
